You can comfortably hop on the bus right outside the door, and within 3 km, you'll reach Bruneck, where you can also continue your excursion by train. From here, you can explore the entire Pustertal and indulge in the extensive network of routes available. A few tips for you!
Bike tour from Brunico to San Candido and back
This bike tour along the Rienz Riveris ideal for families as well as for people who travel alone. Before you start the tour, you can explore the town of Brunico and then make some stops to indulge in South Tyrolean delicacies. Along this route, you'll get to know the picturesque landscape along the river. This bike path net of the Pustertal is so well-connected, that you can pedal to other villages like Campo Turesor branch off to the villages of Dobbiaco/Cortina. If you arrive in San Candido and want to continue, you can even bike to Lienz in Austria.Given that public transportation works well in South Tyrol, you can take into consideration returning by train. For the route from Brunico to San Candido you will take about 2-3 hours.
Cycling up and down in the Dolomites Region Kronplatz
Whether a leisurely ride or a hard bike tour, at Kronplatz you will find the perfect tour for you. Just hop on your bike and off you go. Mountain bikers especially enjoy Kronplatz to the fullest. Cheating is allowed, so you can just hop on an e-bike and effortlessly explore the Pustertal mountains. The cable car is just around the corner, close to your accommodation.
The challenging one: Klammljoch-Tour
The 7-hour long day tour starts in Campo Tures. It takes about 1 hour by bus or 25 minutes by car to get there. From Campo Tures, you first cross a relatively flat picturesque landscape towards Riva di Tures before entering the slightly steeper valley named Knuttental.There you can stop for a break. Then you go up to Klammljoch Mountain Passuntil you reach the point that connects the Rieserferner-Ahrn / Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park with the High Tauern National Park. After wonderful views of the majestic peaks of the Dolomites while cycling up and down, you take the mountain up to Staller Saddle and then down into the Antholzer Tal, passing the homonymous lake until you come back to the starting point.

A walk to the Earth Pyramids of Percha
This 5 km long and 1.5-hour circular walk starts at the Oberwielenbach parking. At first, it leads on a slightly steep path and then on a flat one through forests to the highlight: the earth pyramids in Percha! From Akelei, you can easily reach the starting point in 45 minutes by public transport. You take the bus (about 100 m from the house) first to Brunico and then to Percha and then get off the bus at the church in Oberwielenbach.

This is a moderate hike with a breathtaking WOW factor, just a 45-minute drive from Akelei. Begin your adventure at the Würzjochin St. Martin in Thurn, nestled in the Gadertal, for an unforgettable circular hike around the majestic Peitlerkofel.
